Good Things: December 16, 2010

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Let's take a look at some of the Good Things in the news...

Indonesia's Safari Park welcomed a newborn female hippo calf, Yuni and showed her off to the public for the first time earlier this morning. Her mother, 15 year old Slamet gave birth to the calf while underwater after being pregnant for 7 months. Yuni has been separated from other adult hippos and placed in the same enclosure with her mother to protect the calf from attacks from the older hippos. The hippopotamus is native to Africa and is considered one of the most aggressive animals in the world.

Get ready to rock for Hawaii's hungry! Hawaiian Brian's is holding a special concert fundraiser this Saturday featuring Kilroy, The Sex Puppets and more. Instead of the usual cover charge, just bring 2 non-perishable canned goods. The show starts at 8:00 PM and goes until 1:00 AM.

Every day this week we're giving away 2 pairs of tickets to the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl featuring Hawaii and Tulsa on Christmas Eve. The tickets are courtesy of Toyota Hawaii. Here's today's question:

"U-H receiver Greg Salas has more than 4,100 receiving yards in his career, breaking the school record. Whose record did he break?"
