Dannon Co. to pay $21M in health benefits settlement

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Dannon Co. is paying up.

The company will pay $21 million and drop some health claims for its Activia yogurt and DanActive dairy drink.

Ads claim Activia helps relieve irregularity and that DanActive drinks can help prevent the cold or the flu.

The Federal Trade Commission says there is not enough evidence to back those claims.

Some Hawaii residents are included in the settlement.
