HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man accused of trying to kidnap a young girl appeared in court for a jury-waived trial Tuesday.
A key question is whether he should be acquitted by reason of insanity.
A panel previously determined he was mentally impaired at the time.
Police say Davis grabbed a five-year-old-girl near the swimming pool at Waipahu District Park. Her 10- and 12-year-old brothers then tried to stop him.
A lifeguard saw what was happening and he held Davis until police arrived.
