Jollibee Opens in Hawaii

The largest fast-food chain in the Philippines comes to Hawaii today. Jollibee, with 703 locations in the Philippines, the company opens it's first Hawaii location at the Waipahu Shopping Plaza this morning. Our Ramsay Wharton was there for the companies big day.

Jollibee President/Country Manager, Tommy King, says the restaurant will be open from 5 am to 11 pm, 7 days a week and will serve for a limited menu for now including it's customer favorites Chickenjoy, Yumburgers, Jollibee Spaghetti and Palabok Fiesta (Filipino inspired noodle dish) and Peach-mango pie. King says the company has hired 150 employees in Hawaii to man its 27 U.S. location. It plans to serve up its breakfast menu and host its popular Jollitown Kids Party birthday celebrations sometime in the Spring.

Jollibee's Waipahu location is expected to be particulary popular with the Filipino residents of Waipahu who admire the company which is viewed as an iconic institution in the Philippines.
