HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Medical Examiner's office has identified an Ewa Beach woman who was injured during a single vehicle accident at about 4:21 a.m. Friday on the H-1 freeway. By around 10:35 a.m. Friday, Alicia Pada passed away.
According to police, Pada was driving a truck heading westbound when it crashed into the guardrail and flipped near the Kunia off-ramp. The 24 year old woman was ejected from her Toyota Truck, and had serious head injuries.
Pada was then transported to St. Francis West in critical condition, before being moved to Queens Medical Center.
Authorities say alcohol appears to be a factor, and Pada was probably not wearing a seatbelt.
The two right lanes of the freeway were closed from the Military Access Road Overpass to the Kunia off-ramp while police investigated the accident.
