HONOLULU (AP) - The Library and Information Science Graduate Program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa has been cited as one of the nation's best.
The program was ranked eighth in the nation by U.S. News and World Report in its "America's Best Graduate Schools 2011."
A statement issued Wednesday by UH said the rankings are based on expert opinions regarding program quality, and statistical indicators measuring the quality of the faculty, research and students.
Graduates of the UH master's degree program comprise 85 percent of Hawaii public school library work force. Several graduates have received national recognition.
