PEARL HARBOR (HawaiiNewsNow) - There was also a bit of drama at the new Pearl Harbor Visitors Center Monday.
Around 10:45 a.m. authorities discovered a duffel bag with a suspicious object inside.
They fully evacuated Building G of the newly opened visitors center while federal authorities investigated.
"We evacuated the gallery, secured the perimeter and basically looked for the owner and tried to identify what was within that bag. And so, until we completed that we actually had to keep the area closed to visitors and of course that's for visitors' safety," USS Memorial chief of interpretation Eileen Martinez said.
After a couple hours, it was determined the bag belonged to one of the Pearl Harbor survivors.
Inside the bag was his oxygen tank.
