HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Defensive end Judah Parker will be presented a football jersey Thursday and extended an invitation by members of the U. S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Tour team to participate in the annual U.S. Army All-American Bowl on January 8, 2011 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
The game features the best high school football players in the nation, and has helped launch the careers of Adrian Peterson, Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow, Michael Orr (from the movie "The Blind Side"), and many other college and NFL stars since its inception in 2001.
Saint Louis School will hold a student body assembly in the Bertram Hall courtyard to congratulate their senior football player from the recently crowned HHSAA Division I State Championship Crusader team.
Parker is being recognized for his outstanding performance in the classroom as well as the gridiron. Additionally, Saint Louis School Class of 1968 graduate, retired U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Joe Peterson will be participating in the ceremony.
Parker maintains a 3.43 cumulative grade point average and is a member of the school's Choral group.
"Saint Louis is clearly a school of opportunity and it's exciting to see this fine young man of character being recognized for his achievements," said principal Pat Hamamoto. "And, more importantly, it is the example he sets in the classroom and on campus. He is a student first."
