Parents, students rally against plan to consolidate schools

HAWAII KAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Parents and students in Hawaii Kai rally against a potential plan to consolidate schools.

They carried signs and waved at supporters late Monday afternoon along Kalanianaole highway.

They want to stop the Board of Education from consolidating Kamiloiki and Koko Head Elementary Schools.

The parents say the move is not in the best interest of their keiki.

The education department will hold a public hearing about the consolidation next week Wednesday.

It's at 6:30 p.m., at the Kaiser High School cafeteria.
