State extends paddleboard lane test at Ala Moana Beach

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The state announced Friday that it is extending the test period for the lanes that separate stand-up paddleboarders from swimmers at Ala Moana Beach Park.

The state said the test period for the paddleboard corridor for another six months before it decides whether the buoy system should stay or go.

The buoys were installed last May to keep paddleboarders from running into swimmers. State officials said so far, it has received few complaints about the system.
