Hawaii bankruptcy filings up 49 percent

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The number of bankruptcy filings in the state skyrocketed in November.

There were 327 cases, which is a 49.3 percent increase over Nov. of 2009.

It also represents the second-largest month-over-month increase this year.

Four businesses filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, including Grove Farm Fish & Poi, Island Eye Care Inc., C & T Restaurants and Laser Eye Center of Hawaii.
