HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - House Minority Leader and former lieutenant governor candidate Lynn Finnegan will be the new executive director for the Hawaii Charter Schools Network.
HCSN's former executive director, Albert Nahale-a, will be the new head of the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands.
"We are pleased to have Mrs. Finnegan on board. She has the skills and drive to lead us in our efforts," HSCN president and a charter school director Waialeale Sarsona said.
"I am very passionate about public education in Hawaii. I see this as a great opportunity to help create and maintain quality public schools as choices for parents," Finnegan said.
Finnegan's daughter currently attends Voyager Public Charter School in Kakaako.
HCSN is a non-profit organization that enables, supports and unifies charter schools in the state.
