Alive Ballet Center is celebrating its first anniversary this weekend with a blend of classic and contemporary ballet. Students will perform "A Midwinter's Day Dream" Saturday night at Paliku Theatre. Spectators will enjoy dances from "My Beautiful Backyard" "Sleeping Beauty" and "Stage".. the show starts at 6:00pm and tickets are $15.00.

Michael Douglas will find out in January if the throat cancer he announced over the summer has been eliminated. The 66 year-old actor says he is already looking forward to his next movie role. Douglas tells the Weekly Hollywood Reporter that he will play the title part in Steven Soderbergh's "Liberace" set to begin shooting in May or June. He says that his cancer diagnosis brought him closer to his father, Kirk Douglas and that the disease "has shown me what family is."

She writes children's books and makes wine, dons a spandex leotard like no one else and has sold millions of albums around the world. Now, the "Material Girl" wants you to have a toned body. Madonna launched her "Hard Candy Fitness" gyms in Mexico City, opening a huge, 30,000 square foot compound where Mexico's fashionable crowd can take dance classes and get fit to routines inspired by the singers concert performances.
