Hundreds of sailors will leave Hawaii today for the Middle East and Western Pacific on a guided-missile destroyer. The USS Paul Hamilton will depart from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.

Today is National Meth Awareness Day. Hawaii ranks #5 in the nation for crystal methamphetamine use by people 12 and older. The executive director of the Hawaii Meth Project and a student member of the HMP Teen Advisory Council will stop by our studio to discuss the devastating effects of the drug.

The Department of Transportation is holding a public hearing from 6 to 8 tonight on the Pier 29 Container Yard Reconstruction Project. The DOT wants nearby residents and businesses to know about the possible impacts of the $24.5 million construction proposal.
