Authorities are investigating a crash that involved a motorcycle and a police subsidized vehicle. The deadly accident happened shortly after 7:30 last night on the H-1 freeway near the Makakilo off-ramp. According to investigators, the motorcycle slammed into the back of the police vehicle which was stopped on the side of the freeway while the officer helped a stalled driver. The motorcyclist died at the hospital.
The Board of Education will hold an induction ceremony this morning for seven candidates elected earlier this month. Hawaii Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark Recktenwald will administer the oath of office to four new members. Three sitting members who were re-elected will also be inducted. Members Leona Rocha-Wilson and Eileen Clarke will be in our studio to discuss the changes ahead as the legislature creates an appointment process for the BOE.
