HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Election season isn't quite over yet on Oahu. The District 1 seat on the Honolulu City Council is still up for grabs, and the deadline to register to vote in that race is Monday.
Todd Apo resigned from the seat earlier this month after he accepted a job as the public affairs manager for Aulani, the new Disney resort in Ko Olina. The leeward district includes the Ewa, Kapolei, Nanakuli and Waianae areas.
A total of 14 candidates have filed to run for the remainder of Apo's term, which ends in January 2013. The election to fill the seat will be conducted through mail-in ballots. The election results will be announced on December 29.
