The seventh and next to the last Harry Potter movie is now in theatres, but it's not for people who don't already know Harry's history.
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" is a very well made version of the first half of J. K. Rowling's final novel in the Harry Potter series. But if you don't know what a "horcrux" is, this movie will lose you in a hurry.

Also, please be aware that this is not a children's movie in any way shape or form.

Ralph fiennes plays the evil Voldemort, the dark lord who murdered Harry's parents many years ago.
Now the entire saga is building to Harry's confrontation with this evil monster, a climax that won't happen until the final movie comes out next July.

What this movie is about is the desperate struggle of Harry, Ron, and Hermione to destroy the various objects that contain the pieces of Voldemort's soul: the horcruxes.
Hogwarts School is nowhere to be seen in this new  film. Now the three friends are 17 year olds out in the so called real world, trying to escape the death eaters while they look for the horcruxes.

Director David Yates has done a terrific job of creating an atmosphere of jeopardy and dread.
But if you aren't familiar with Harry's history, chances are you won't have a clue about what's going on in this film.
