HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau has named Donald Horner as its new chairman of the board of directors for 2011.
Horner succeeds Hawaiian Airlines president and CEO Mark Dunkerley, who was the chairman for the past two years.
"Don's position as one of the leaders of our business community is a great asset to the Bureau, since tourism's wellbeing affects virtually every business in the state," HCVB's president and CEO John Monahan said. "Under his leadership, we will look to further strengthen the synergy between tourism and the local business communities on all islands as we continue to brand Hawaii as a top destination for leisure and business travel."
Horner is currently the chairman and chief executive of First Hawaiian Bank.
