KANEOHE BAY (HawaiiNewsNow) - A diver who died Thursday in Kaneohe Bay has been identified.
A medical examiner has identified the man as 59-year-old Melvin Lima of Mililani.
The call came in just after 2:00 p.m. Thursday.
Officials say the man was fishing with local residents, then went diving in the water. The group later realized the man was missing.
A Honolulu Fire Department helicopter spotted the diver floating in the water near Kaneohe Boat Harbor.
Rescue crews performed CPR on the man.
Officials pronounced him dead just after 3:45 p.m.
The cause of death is unknown.
