Prince William's engagement to Kate Middleton has set off a race for replicas of the Royal Wedding Ring here in the United States. One New York jeweler has sold a record 30 rings in 24 hours and the National Sapphire Company's website crashed yesterday. The good news is that most of the replicas run between $1,000 and $2,500 compared to hundreds of thousands of dollars for the real thing.
Two weeks ago the Atlanta Zoo celebrated the birth of a baby panda. Giant panda Lun Lun gave birth to her third cub and his is important because there are only 11 giant pandas in the U.S. and only 1,600 living in the entire world. The zoo will now have an online contest to pick a name for the new cub, a boy.
And an Indian man is attempting a unique record, trying to spin 500 tops in 5 minutes. Umit Raja has already mastered the skill of spinning 60 tops in 1 minute. He uses 3 fingers to rotate them. And while has tried and tried, he keeps falling short. Raja vows to keep trying to inspire children in his village.
