Sodexo and UH attempting to break campus food collection record

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A leading U.S. food and facilities management services company and the University of Hawaii at Manoa are teaming up to fight hunger in Hawaii.

Sodexo and the UH Campus Board Center will collect non-perishable food items Wednesday at the Campus Center Courtyard from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

It's all part Helping Hands Across America's effort to prevent hunger.

They're hoping to break a campus-record of 1,200 pounds of food collected in one day.

The food items collected from Wednesday's drive will go to the Hawaii Foodbank.
