WAIPAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - You can get an early start on your Christmas shopping and help a local charity through a special sale.
Workers from Island Heritage will volunteer their time to open up their warehouse this weekend.
Discounts will be offered on more than half-a-million dollars worth of merchandise.
Part of the proceeds will be donated to Special Olympics Hawaii, which has had to scale back on events like its "Holiday Classic" due to the economic downturn.
"We turned that from a three-day tournament into a two-day tournament so unfortunately we were hit with the economic changes and had to make some changes to the events that we offer through our programs," Special Olympics Hawaii's Melissa Blake said.
"We couldn't be more proud to be a part of that great organization. They've done such a fantastic job here in Hawaii," Madden Corporation's Michael Madden said.
