Sierra Club challenging Koa Ridge vote

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An environmental group is challenging a vote to develop Koa Ridge.

The Sierra Club is appealing a state land use commission decision allowing Castle & Cooke to move ahead with plans for its Koa Ridge project.

The environmental group claims Duane Kanuha was ineligible to serve as a commissioner when he voted to reclassify the agriculture land.

Without his support, the vote would have come up short.
