WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Happy birthday "Rabbit" Kekai! The oldest living beach boy turned 90 years old Thursday.

The surf legend had quite a guest list for his birthday party at Duke's Restaurant Thursday.

Mayor Carlisle and Ben Aipa to name a few.

Rabbit learned his surf and canoe skills from none other than Duke Kahanamoku and then turned around and taught countless people over the years from little kids to big time celebrities.

The athlete's secret to a long life? A clean, health lifestyle and lots of laughs.

"Ninety years of troubles, good will to everybody -- mostly troubles, that's what they call me "Kolohe" in Hawaiian. Well looking back here you see a lot of the old friends and I'm decked with flowers and everything. That's their respect for me... I got leid," Kekai said.

Father, grandfather and now great grandfather, "Rabbit" and his wife Lynn split their time between his Waikiki stomping grounds and California.
