Good Things: November 10, 2010

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Let's take a look at some of the Good Things in the news...

Good news for Omega the Chimpanzee, a Lebanese animal rights group just rescued the 12 year old chimp from a zoo in Lebanon. There, Omega had been living alone in a cage, smoking cigarettes to entertain visitors. He is now being flown to Brazil where doctors hope to rehabilitate him and introduce him back to the wild.

In Canada, a man thought he could get away with using a counterfeit 50 dollar bill. But when the female clerk tried to stop him, he got mad and attacked her. That's when some customers, including Larry Skopnik, who is in a wheelchair, came to her rescue. In fact, Larry tackled the man, put him in a head-lock and held him until police arrived. Larry says he doesn't let being in a wheelchair ever keep him from doing the right thing.
