HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Swimming from Oahu to Kauai, non-stop, seems impossible.
No one's done it before but Australian marathon swimmer Penny Palfrey announced she will take on the challenge Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. from Kaena Point.
Palfrey will be escorted by a safety boat with lifeguards and her advisor Steve Munatones.
Palfrey has actually tried the 72-mile trek before, back in March.
She got halfway there, but then got attacked by a mob of Portuguese Man-Of-War.
"At first I felt like I walked into a big cobweb, just covered my whole body and then I was very nauseous was making me really sick for several minutes and then it was like putting my fingers in a power bolt and being electrocuted over and over again it was completely unbearable pain," Palfrey said.
Palfrey says the trek will take her up to 40 hours, with no sleep.
