HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A special election to fill Todd Apo's Honolulu City Council seat is set for Dec. 29.
Monday was the chairman's final day as the Leeward-Ewa district councilman.
Apo accepted a job as the public affairs manager for Aulani, the new Disney resort in Koolina.
The special election will be held by an all-mail ballot.
So far, two candidates have filed nomination papers including Robert McDermott and Melvin Kahele, both for Ewa Beach.
The deadline to file nomination papers is Nov. 19 at 4:30 p.m. in the Office of the City Clerk at Honolulu Hale.
