HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Will Ferrell's plot to take over the weekend box office has succeeded. Ferrell's animated super-villain comedy "Megamind" debuted as the No. 1 movie with $47.7 million. Along with the voices of Brad Pitt, Tina Fey and Jonah Hill, Megamind has Ferrell's title character hatching a scheme to fill the void in his life after he finally defeats his superhero nemesis.
The Robert Downey Jr.-Zach Galifianakis' road-trip comedy "Due Date" opened at a strong No. 2 with $33.5 million.
Tyler Perry's drama "For Colored Girls" with Janet Jackson opened in third with $20.1 million.
Pictures of topless Emma Watson aren't real. Apparently they've been making the rounds at Brown, where Watson's a student. Says her rep: "There have been a number of nude fakes over the past two months. Emma has seen them and finds them tiresome. People should know better."
