BOISE, ID (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii went into Saturday's game against Boise State with high hopes.
But those hopes were dashed early on, as the Broncos ran away with this one from the beginning.
Up 21 to nothing at the start of the third, Kellen Moore goes to his favorite target, Austin Pettis.
The 43-yard score made it 28-0. Then, the very first play of the fourth, it's ground time, as Jeremy Avery trots 19 yards for six points.
Boise routs Hawaii 42-7. The 737 yards of offense by the Broncos was the second most ever by a UH opponent.
Moore finished up with 507 yards passing. Alex Green scored Hawaii's only touchdown on a 54 yard scamper.
The senior tallied 107 yards on 10 carries. The Warrior offense mustered up only 196 yards, the lowest output in over a decade.
Bryant Moniz passed for a season-low 127 yards. UH gave up seven sacks and Kealoha Pilares did not play.
On the defensive side of the ball, Mana Silva picked off two passes and is tied for the career school mark at 13.
The Warriors will have their first bye of the season before returning to action at home against San Jose State on Saturday, November 20. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. at Aloha Stadium.
