KONA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Repeated sightings of one or more large tiger sharks have been reported at Anaehoomalu Bay.
Officials say beaches will remain open unless sightings are confirmed.
On Wednesday, Anaehoomalu Beach was closed in the afternoon after a shark was spotted feeding off a turtle 20 yards off shore. It remained closed until Thursday morning after Hawaii County Fire Department crews flew over the area and confirmed no shark sightings.
State and county officials advise the public to be watchful and cautious when entering the water.
