Good Things: November 1, 2010

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Let's take a look at some of the Good Things in the news...

We'll start with a story for our Sunrise audio guy, Craig Kaleikini. Because yesterday was a tough day to be a sound guy. At least it was for the one working in the fourth quarter of the Lions - Redskins game. Running back Kevin Smith runs out of bounds and takes out the guy holding the audio dish. No problem. He gets right up, brushes it off and gets back to work. So did the Lions. They won 37-25.

Some of the animals at the North Carolina Zoo took part in a long-standing tradition of Halloween mischief.. pumpkin smashing. The zoo held its annual "Pachyderm Pumpkin Pounding" event yesterday and it was a fun time had by all. Elephants, gorillas and chimpanzees all had a chance to pulverize and partake of pumpkins in their exhibits. It's part of the zoo's ongoing animal enrichment program.

And starting tonight on Hawaii News Now at 10:00pm, Grace Lee will go behind the scenes with Grace Park, Alex O'Laughlin, Daniel Dae Kim and Scott Caan. We'll learn important things, like if Grace Park likes spam.
