HONOLULU (AP) - The University of Hawaii's William S. Richardson School of Law is set to hold a public forum on same-sex civil unions.
The two-hour event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, at the UH Manoa School of Architecture's auditorium.
The forum will be moderated by former UH history Professor Dan Boylan and co-hosted by the Psychology Honor Society and the Hawaii International Film Festival.
Parking will be available for $5 at the School of Architecture lot or the Zone 20 parking structure.
Civil unions has been a contentious topic at the state Capitol the last two years. It could emerge next year if lawmakers again attempt to pass legislation to give same-gender couples the right to legal recognition of their relationships.
