Chaminade receives $25,000 for scholarships, announces Wesselkamper scholar

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Chaminade University received a $25,000 grant for scholarships from the Clarence T.C. Ching Foundation on Wednesday.

The scholarships will go to deserving and financially challenged students.

The foundation was started in 1976 to support charitable organizations in Hawaii.

The President Mary Civille (Sue) Wesselkamper Scholarship was also awarded to one deserving student.

Chaminade University senior Chau Nguyen received the award at the institution's annual scholarship luncheon Wednesday.

The President Mary Civille (Sue) Wesselkamper Scholarship was started in Sept. 2008. It provides financial assistance to new and continuing students at Chaminade University who are at risk of non-completion due to financial hardship.
