New cancer data book unveiled to reduce disease in Hawaii

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hawaii Comprehensive Cancer Control Coalition unveiled a new publication that outlines the disease's effect on people of all ages, genders, demographics and ethnicities.

"Hawaii Cancer Facts & Figures 2010" is a joint effort of the American Cancer Society, Cancer Research Center of Hawaii and the Hawaii State Department of Health. The publication is intended as a tool for public health education, research and planning.

The coalition also released the "Hawaii State Cancer Plan 2010-2015," which is intended to guide cancer control and prevention efforts across the state.
