HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Gift Foundation of Hawaii announced that the Hawaii Youth Symphony, Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii, Hawaii Nature Center and Hawaii Literacy will be the 2010 beneficiaries of its annual fundraiser.

This year's costumed themed event, "Lifestyles of the Rich and Infamous" will be held at Waikiki's newest Luxury Hotel, The Waikiki EDITION, on Friday, October 29, 2010 starting at 7 p.m.

"Every year the people attending our event pull out all the stops with their costumes," said event co-chair Molly Watanabe. "It's one of the things that make our fundraiser unique and I'm certain we'll see many 'infamous' characters in support of the charities we have selected this year. It's really a great time for all."

This year the Gift Foundation of Hawaii expects to surpass $1 million in total donations contributed to local charitable organizations over the past 7 years. This is the 8th year and the Gift Foundation board has planned everything from selecting the beneficiaries, fundraising, determining the theme, selecting the venue and planning the logistics. It receives the support of many business professionals from a wide array of industries all interested in giving back.

"Our goal is to encourage young adults to participate in philanthropic giving," said Gift Foundation Board Chair Kenwei Chong. "Part of the GIFT mission is raising awareness of organizations that make a difference in our society, and promote giving and volunteering among our peers. This fun-filled event is designed to show people how to get involved and let them know they can raise money for worthy charitable causes and have a great time doing it."

This event is open to the public with individual tickets available for $150. Corporate sponsorships are available at three levels, $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500. For more information or to purchase tickets visit www.thegiftfoundationofhawaii.org or call 808-457-0880.
