KAPOLEI (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Senior Residence at Kapolei held a dedication ceremony for a new Phase 2 of its senior rental housing on Thursday.
Twenty rental units were added to the 60-unit Senior Residence at Kapolei.
The Senior Residence at Kapolei 2 is the result of a public and private partnership with the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Cooperation, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Pacific Housing Assistance Cooperation.
HHFDC supplied $1.1 million from the Rental Housing Trust Fund on top of a one dollar per year land lease.
In return, the Senior Residence at Kapolei will remain affordable for 75 years.
The HUD supplied $4.4. Million as a part of Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly Program.
The housing units are intended for seniors whose incomes are set at or below 30 to 50 percent of Honolulu County's area median gross income.
The Senior Residence at Kapolei 2 is located at 91-1098 Namahoe Street.
