NORTH SHORE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - There's a bad crash on Oahu's North Shore.

The main road to Haleiwa has been shut down in both directions after a two-car collision happened just after 6:30 Wednesday evening.

At the intersection of Kamehameha and J.P Leong Highways, Honolulu police blocked the roadway in both directions, with an officer telling drivers to turn around.

The closure on Kamehameha Highway stretches from J.P. Leong Highway in Haleiwa, to Paalaa Uka Pupukea Road in Wahiawa. That's where the Helemano Military Reservation is. That means drivers will have to take Kaukonahua Road to get to and from the North Shore.

Police say the crash happened at 64-350 Kamehameha Highway, at the Waialua Coffee Fields & Stand near Helemano Plantation. Investigators say it was a head-on collision involving a small sedan and a jeep. Five people were involved, but one was treated and released at the scene.

Emergency Medical Services says the other four victims were taken to the Queen's Medical Center for trauma care.

The four victims involved are now listed in serious condition. Police say the victims are in their 20's.
