Inauguration ceremony for Mayor Carlisle to be held Friday

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The inauguration ceremony for Mayor Peter Carlisle will be held in the Mission Memorial Auditorium near Honolulu Hale Friday.

Seating will be reserved for special guests, but additional seating will be available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.

A large tent with a wide-screen television will also be set up for the anticipated overflow of guests.

Hawaii Circuit Court Judge R. Mark Browning will administer the Oahu of office while First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu Senior Pastor Dan Chun will give the invocation.

Jazz performer Jimmy Borges will sing the National Anthem and Cathy Foy will sing Hawaii Ponoi. Hula Hulau Olana will also perform.

The doors to the auditorium will open at 4:00 p.m. and the ceremony will begin at 5:00 p.m.

The Frank F. Fasi Civic Center Parking Structure will offer free parking for guests after 4:00 p.m.

A live broadcast of the inauguration ceremony will be on Olelo, channel 49.
