HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A worker on the Star of Honolulu spotted Romain Edwards, 24, rummaging through items on the ship around 5:30 a.m. on October 30, 2007.
"The employee called security. Two security (officers) and the employee tried to detain Edwards, who was attempting to flee on a moped. As he was trying to get away, he pulled out a knife and threatened to kill all three of them," said Kim Buffett of CrimeStoppers.
Responding officers were able to detain the Oahu man.
"He was placed under arrest for terroristic threatening in the first-degree, 3 counts of it, and theft in the fourth-degree for an item that he had taken off the Star of Honolulu," Buffett said.
Then on April 3, 2008, undercover officers were conducting a narcotics operation in Waikiki.
"An officer was dropped off in the pre-determined area, and was able to make contact with a male who sold him drugs," said Buffett. "The male was detained and identified as Edwards, and was placed under arrest for promoting dangerous drugs in the second-degree."
Edwards is now wanted for two warrants totaling $150,000 for failing to appear for his sentencing last month. He is known to frequent the Honolulu area.
"He has three prior convictions, and they're for a switchblade violation and then two probation violations," said Buffett.
Police describe Edwards as 6'4 and 195 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He also has tattoos on both arms. Call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 with your tips.
