Hawaiian monk seal scoping meetings to be held across the state

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Pacific Islands Regional Office of NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service will hold public meetings regarding the Hawaiian monk seal.

The meetings will give the public a chance to express views and identify issues to be addressed in the Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement.

The NMFS encourages the public to voice any comments they may have about potential management actions and associated research and enhancement program activities that may be carried out on Hawaiian monk seals, in an attempt to repopulate the species.

Five meetings will be held at the following locations:

Honolulu, O'ahu
