HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The State Department of Health is standing firm in its decision to fine the City and County of Honolulu $1.7 million for dumping concrete into a Leeward stream home to endangered birds.
The decision was made by the DOH back in July. The City and County then appealed the decision.
According to the DOH hearings officer, the City and County still has the option to take the case to state court.
It is unknown at this time if there is a deadline for the City and County to pay the fine.
