HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The mysterious net filled with garbage, buoys and even a spare tire floating near Hanauma Bay has been cleared.

Our Sky News Now pilot, Jeff, spotted the trash on Oct. 13 during a routine tour around the island.

The Department of Land and Natural Resources sent enforcement officers to investigate the situation on Sunday, but were unable to remove the debris due to rough conditions.

On Monday morning, The Pacific Island Fisheries Science Centers, Coral Reef Ecosystems Division and Marine Debris Project launched a 17-foot inflatable into the waters near Witches Brew with a team four divers.

The team removed 436 pounds of debris from Hanauma Bay. The debris consisted of derelict fishing floats and gear, miscellaneous plastics and a tire.
