Discoverer's Day observed in Hawaii

HONOLULU (AP) - Columbus Day is being observed across the country.

In Hawaii, Monday is called Discoverer's Day.

It's a federal holiday, so there will be no regular mail delivery.

State and city-county employees must report to work as usual, but Hawaii's public schools are closed. There will be classes at the University of Hawaii.

On Oahu, the public bus system is running on its regular schedule.
