HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Meanwhile, the man taking over Peter Carlisle's former job was sworn in Monday afternoon.
Keith Kaneshiro is taking over as Honolulu's prosecuting attorney.
Ninety-nine deputy prosecutors were also sworn in Monday afternoon.
That doesn't include the 11 recently fired by Kaneshiro.
At least three of them supported his opponent in the election, Don Pacarro, but Kaneshiro says any charges of "payback or revenge" are completely false and without merit.
This is Kaneshiro's second term at the post.
He was Honolulu's prosecutor back in the early 1990s.
