FRESNO, Calif. (HawaiiNewsNow) - You could tell it was going to be a long night for the 'Dawgs from the game's opening drive...
That's because Hawaii took no time to jump on Fresno with a TD the first time they touched the ball on offense.
Warrior QB Bryant Moniz hits Greg Salas on a 30-yard score. Hawaii would flex its muscles on "D" as well. Geordon Hanohano slams down Bulldog QB Ryan Colburn for the sack.
Fresno would bite back though. Colburn with a 50-yard pass to Jalen Saunders for the TD. Hawaii was up 14 to 10 at the half. Warrior tailback Alex Green would take over in the second half with three touchdowns, including a 38-yarder.
Hawaii wins this one, 49 to 27, moving to 4-2 and 2-0 in the WAC.
"Well the difference is the guys came out and played, we've been getting better and better," Warrior head coach Greg McMackin said.
Up next for Hawaii is number-21 ranked Nevada at Aloha Stadium this coming Saturday.
Greg Salas finished with nine catches for 148 yards. Senior cornerback Jeramy Bryant picked off two passes and returned one for a 48-yard score in the fourth.
Moniz threw for 376 yards.
"We just gotta execute our plays and in the end it'll work out," Moniz said.
