Hawaii community health centers to receive $10.3M in federal funding

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Community health centers in Hilo and Waianae will receive $10.3 million in U.S. Department of Health and Human Services grants to help expand and modernize facilities.

The federal funds will be awarded to the health clinics under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Hilo's Bay Clinic will receive $2.3 million, while the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center will receive $7.9 million.

These funds will be put towards health center construction and renovation, and will expand quality health care to patients.

It will also create job opportunities in state's construction and healthcare divisions.
