Good Things: October 5, 2010

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Let's take a look at some of the Good Things in the news...

Last night on nationwide Monday Night Football, former U-H Warrior Devon Bess had a big night with 9 catches, 93 yards and a touchdown to put Miami up 7-0 in the first quarter. Fellow former Warrior Ikaika Alama-Francis also logged his first tackle of the season. Despite the good play from Hawaii athletes, Miami couldn't stop New England. The Patriots improved to 3-1 on the season with the 41-14 win.

A fake high school on Hawaii 5-0 is prompting some very real plans. The creators of a website for Kukui High School say they have plans to soon begin selling the football jersey the wears on the show. And they are hoping to hold a Winter Ball at the "signature" Hawaii 5-0 location.. the Ilikai.

Hawaii News Now actually had a part in last night's episode, but you had to look really closely to catch it. Parked in the background during the scene at the football game is our Hawaii News Now "live" truck. There was also a quick shot of one of our video journalists, Duncan Armstrong. And our technical director Kevin Luke made a quick appearance. He did a quick "walk by" in front of the camera.. and in front of 5-0 star Grace Park. Both Duncan and Kevin shot longer scenes, but they were left on the editing room floor. Perhaps those scenes will be included  in the Hawaii 5-0 Season One DVD. We will just have to wait and see.
