Coral ecosystem reserve advisory council meets

HONOLULU (AP) - The advisory council for the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands Coral Reef Ecosystem Reserve is due to meet this week.

The reserve is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. It's now part of the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument.

Council members are expected to discuss monument evaluation strategies and hear about the monument's designation as a World Heritage site.

They'll also hear presentations about the 10th anniversary of the reserve.

The meeting is scheduled to be held Wednesday and Thursday at the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument Office in Hawaii Kai.
