One person dead in Waianae house fire

WAIANAE (HawaiiNewsNow) – One person is confirmed dead in a fire which destroyed a home on the 86-400 block of Halona road in Waianae. Firefighters are still working to extinguish the fire, which broke out just before 2:00 PM Friday.

Power lines are reported to be down in the area. Police have closed Halona Road between Kuwale and Lualualei Homestead Roads.

As many as ten people are reported to live in the home, with one family on the first floor and another family living on the second. The Red Cross is assisting the victims.
