HPD officer arrested for criminal property damage set to make first court appearance

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Honolulu police officer arrested this month is set to make his first court appearance Thursday morning.

Officer Scott Valdez was arrested last week for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and criminal property damage.

The 43 year old was assigned to the traffic division at the time of the incident.

He has since been re-assigned, and his gun and badge were taken away.

    The state Department of Health has notified the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corporation of possible water violations in their water system, a company spokesperson said Saturday.
